I have my own reasons for how I've done things. Unless you have another complaint other than it being slightly inconvenient for me to not be with the police, I don't want to hear it.

What I told you wasn't a lie. They recruited me, and a job with the police seemed useful. And once my interests no longer aligned with theirs, I left. That's common of any job.

I don't have to explain myself to you, so you didn't have to keep pressing when I already told you why I left. Everything you said about it being easier if I were on the force can be said about you, too. If you want to make things easier, then you rejoin, before trying to talk me into doing it.

I'm saying you're smart enough to do both, but I'd never ask you to if there's something about the police that pisses you off. And it's not about having to explain yourself to me - it shouldn't be a crime to want to get to know you when we're all we've got here.

[mineo came to trust yanagi intensely over living with him for a few months, and by knowing he wouldn't be judged. he trusts takeru too, because he knows that they probably wouldn't harm each other. but when the situation's way more intense, he doesn't think that they can keep going on with just that.]

regardless if he actually likes someone or not, he still wouldn't want to talk about this with them. he does his best to keep his relationship with the others in the fake detective office as professional as possible.

there are a lot of things he wants to say, like how mineo is full of it, how mineo is just adding more tension to a situation where they're both already stressed. he doesn't say anything though, and just rubs his temple as he simply thinks. ]
