Killing is worth more as an indulgence than anything else.

Is it? It was always a bit unclear to me, how these indulgences of ours are weighed.

Considering how important our wishes are to us... I suppose it's not a stretch to think that some would sacrifice an innocent to bring theirs to fruition.

Especially with our low track record of actually catching killers. It might seem like a good chance to take.
