... last night, our limbs kept locking on us? Like we suddenly couldn't move them. And this morning the theme song of an old cartoon was playing on a screen. The Pink Panther. But also last night, the fields, the medbay, the planetarium, the library, and the spa video feeds weren't visible to us.

And when I was looking around, the bathroom in the house was locked. It sounded like water was running and there was a sloshing noise coming from insisde.

In the spa, we had a static effect at night. Like. . . waking up and touching someone after you've walked on carpet. In the morning, there was a fish flopping around that wouldn't go back in the pond.

In the pool room, I saw what might have been blood droplets, but might have been pool water.

What is the Pink Panther? Oddly enough, Sheila mentioned it to me the other day. I thought she was just saying nonsense.

We can maybe find a video of it in the rec room, if you want to see.

Sheila suggested it when I said she ought to have a code phrase to use on me if I'm cursed. Mollymauk used one on me at trial last week, and it was very helpful. So I didn't think much of it - but it may only be a coincidence. If Sheila was involved I'm fairly certain she'd have said something by now.

Hm... well, it could be two different things. Originally, it's about incompetent police. There's a gem heist in it, and the gem is pink. The opening credits of the film is what we saw, I think, which is a cartoon.

And then after, they made a TV series about the character the Pink Panther, even though it's not really related to the films. So, we have to guess what the hint was trying to reference.

I just thought. . . [she mutters] pink and cat themed anomalies. Don't worry about it.

So a heist, or some kind of animal.

The pink could also just be referring to Aoi because of her hair, but even then... that wouldn't tell us much.

[ since they already know she's a victim. ]

. . . Perhaps we'll understand more tomorrow.

It'll be... tight, with three victims, but we'll see.

We need to be careful in how we approach things. Avoid delays for things that aren't important.

And also be prepared for any curses. They tend to be aimed at the same people each time, usually.

Oh, I invite them to try and curse me. Fuck that. If I'm acting cursed, I want you to say 'fourteen.'

Say that to me, and I'll do my best to put it aside and get back on track, and skip the whole commotion. It isn't foolproof, but it's better than arguing with someone about whether or not they're cursed.

Alright.

If anything, at the very least if any curses happen, we can try to pay more attention to what we were talking about when it occurs. We never really think to do that until after the fact.

But I wonder if Mineo was truly related, and not a nasty prank of some sort. . . ? I suppose we'll solve that mystery tomorrow, as one of the people with What Are Those will be forced to come forward.

Mineo is hard to tell, since according to him they cursed him a lot earlier on.

[ since he said he felt really uncomfortable all of trial?? and just didn't know why until he took his clothes off. ]

So it was either a distraction planned out far in advance, or someone has poor timing for a joke.

Either way it's nasty. I just - having been informed it's not worth pursuing Eleanor's murder, I will be very unimpressed if her killer could have been tracked down by finding the two people who had that power.

... why is it not worth pursuing?

[ i mean, he doubts they'll figure it out anyway because they have not solved any of the murders retroactively yet, but still. ]

Don't fucking ask me. I was just told, very directly, that this was the case. And when I pointed out this made it sound more interesting, I was again told this.

. . . My nasty little suspicion is that. Someone has to die. And since Grace didn't, something unorthodox happened.

... [ hm. ] That would go against the implication that we could go without deaths that they were saying earlier on, but...

They can't tell us everything, so I guess we can't hold that too much against them if that's the case.

I asked Greed outright if we could avoid deaths, and their answer was that it would be possible, if we used the knowledge we had to "set things in motion prior to the start." So. I don't know what that caveat means.

... I have no idea what that's referring to.

I was told that we're doing a good job. Us, specifically, with what we're asking. I'm not sure if that's helpful or not.

[ it doesn't really feel like he's asking the right questions. ]

I don't know what to think. There are things they're protecting us from, and I dislike being protected.

It never really feels like we're getting closer to the truth, even when we find bits and pieces of stuff...

But we can't really press them too much, because of their rules.
