Yes, but not to this degree. For example, during space travel, there's no thanergy to draw on, but typically I'd still be able to do some minor necromancy with these.

None of my ancestors had any abilities either, until one day the man who was to become the Emperor developed them. Through his abilities, the abilities of my own family line and others came to be.
