Adonis being the terrorist group you mentioned? I'm not sure we have that word where I'm from. What does it mean, terrorist?

In mythology, Adonis is a god of beauty and desire. I'm sure you can dig and find some meaning in their name choice, but I don't particularly care.

That could be a very broad definition.

There's usually a specific intent behind it-- a message. In America, there's the KKK, which is a terrorist group that is motivated by racism against a specific group of people. You create fear and chaos and death to send your message.

... Like a crusade targeting innocents in the name of religion? That sort of thing?

That fits, yes. The group tends to believe their cause is righteous.

And any unnecessary death that happens along the way is just a consequence of the path to justice. Or something along those lines.

For Adonis, their thing is specifically is that they wish to punish sinners.

... That's especially vague. Sins can be anything, and differ depending on the purpose.

But they recruit members by promising them a chance to get revenge against those who sinned against them.

Clever of them, you have to admit.

It is, especially considering their method of making sure everyone has a good alibi.

But it's easy to get someone to kill for your cause if they already wanted to kill before you asked.

Less persuasion needed that way, that's for sure. You're just taking someone and giving them what they want, with your goals as their goal.

But I think if you're at the level of desperation to accept that kind of deal, whether or not something is the smart choice doesn't matter.

I expect you're right. Makes it worst though, doesn't it? If they're seeking out people intentionally when they're at their most desperate.

It's part of why, no matter what they say, they're not actually trying to change the world for the better.

They just think they are. Which is a dangerous mindset to have.
