It depends on what the things are and the context.

Can you over indulge in those video game things?

It's possible. You can even become addicted to them-- some people have died from overplaying because they forget to take care of themselves.

But I wouldn't say I actually fall under that category, unless I decide to use it as a way to indulge for points here.

It's surprisingly common. People end up throwing away their lives for whatever their fix is, even when it's something most people wouldn't see as a drug.

I don't think it's only a modern problem, but it has definitely gotten worse with it. It'll probably continue to get worse, too.

To a point, maybe. But if you get so used to killing no part, or situation involving it phases you, then I think that's more worrying than anything.
